Is there anything I should do during my test?
-
At the beginning of the test the examiner will ask if you would like an explanation of how he intends to conduct the test. Even if this is your tenth attempt at the test make sure you say yes to the explanation.
-
Imagine that your examiner has just hitched a lift and is giving you directions to where he wants to be taken.
-
The first minutes of your test are important. Try to gain the confidence of your examiner by driving with total concentration. Remember during these vital few minutes he doesn't yet know whether you can drive at all.
-
Keep checking those mirrors and looking well ahead
-
If you are in any doubt about the directions you have been given by the examiner don't be afraid to ask him to repeat them.
-
If the examiner talks to you and it is distracting you tell him in a polite way that you need to concentrate. He will not be offended.
-
Remember do not think that every mistake you make is a fail. If you think this your driving will get worse. Besides you don't really know what constitutes a serious or dangerous fault and it just maybe your examiner didn't see it.
